Software/Hardware Requests
Looking to get a new piece of software, a web-based resource, or hardware for your classroom?
A portion of the technology budget each year is designated for the purchase of software/website licenses. Of that, the majority is spent on renewing existing licenses or updating software currently in use. However, there is usually some money available each year for the purchase of new software or website licenses.
Although we do not receive funds from New York State specifically earmarked for hardware each year, our district budget does include money for this purpose. Again, a large portion is spent maintaining the infrastructure already in place.
Because of the finite nature of the funds, the MCSD Technology Committee implemented a request form to be used by teachers or administrators interested in having a resource purchased. Once submitted, requests are reviewed and voted upon at the next Committee meeting, with meetings being regularly scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month. The individual who submitted the request will then be informed of the Committee's decision, and in the case of an approval, the wheels will be put in motion for the purchase to be made.
This link will allow you to download the MS Word version of the district's software/hardware request form. Please complete the form with as much detail as possible and email it to Mark Dalton.
Please Note: Owing to a number of infrastructure improvements that were necessary (wifi coverage, servers, etc.), the hardware funds for the 2014-2015 school year have mostly been expended already. You may still submit a request and it will be kept on file, but be aware that the likelihood of new purchases this year is low.
