Add-ons
These are like mini-programs you can add to services like Docs, Sheets, and Forms. Each service has a different set of add-ons available. In order to find and install add-ons, you need to have that service open. So if you want to install a Docs add-on, you need to open a document and look for the Add-ons menu.
All add-ons are free to install, and many are completely free to use. There are, however, a handful that are what we call freemium. This means you can install them and there's a basic version that's free to use, but for more advanced features you would need to pay a fee or subscription. Don't let this scare you off from trying add-ons, though. Even if it is a freemium, you can't be automatically charged for anything. You may find that the free features are perfect for what you needs, and if they aren't you can always ditch it.

Clicking on "Get add-ons" will open a pop-up window in which you can browse, search, and install all the available add-ons.
Once and add-on has been installed, it can be accessed from the Add-on menu in the Google service.
To get rid of an add-on, click on "Manage add-ons" in the menu.
